I hope everyone has had a splendid half term break and are ready for an extremely busy (but fun) next few weeks.
Prayer and Liturgy
This week we have started our ‘Prophecy and Promise’ topic with ‘Mary is Chosen’. Our key words this week were YES, MARY and BABY.
We started our session with a special invitation. This is what it said:
Dear Children,
I want to tell you about someone incredibly important – Jesus. He is very special because He came to Earth to show everyone how much I love them.
Do you want to hear the wonderful story of how He was born?
I’m inviting you to learn more about Jesus, and to feel the love and joy that He brings.
As you hear more stories about Jesus, remember that these stories are My special way of telling you how much you are loved. I’m so happy you are here, and I can’t wait for you to know more about My Son, Jesus, and all the wonderful things He has done just for you!
With all My love, now and forever.
We all agreed we wanted to learn more about Jesus! We heard a story about somebody else that said ‘yes’ to God. Click here.
Mary was chosen by God to give birth to his Son.
Mary was very special because she was always kind and loving to everyone. God saw how good she was and chose her for an important job. He sent an angel to ask Mary if she would be the mother of Jesus, His Son. Even though she was surprised, Mary trusted God and wasn’t afraid, because she knew He would take care of her. Mary was happy because she believed in God's love and care.
Our child – led worship this week was about ‘All Saints Day’. We listened to the words from the Gospel about Jesus blessing everyone and the saintly virtues of kindness, mercy and trust in God to honour all saints. We discussed how we can be like the saints – we had some wonderful ideas. Helping Mummy and Daddy, smiling at others, helping someone who has fallen down. These attributes can be our ‘superpower’ to help others and be just like Jesus.
We finished with ‘He’s got the whole world in His hands’ - Click here.
Learning Landscape
We have certainly hit the ground running this week! In four days we have:
found out all about Bonfire Night and firework safety
made computer firework pictures
started to discuss Remembrance Day and why we wear a poppy
painted poppies to go all around our cross of peace
learnt a new sound ‘t’- down the tower across the tower
had the most fabulous Maths Challenge Day! Numberblocks everywhere!! Watch out on next weeks blog for fun photos!

Please note that after the performance we will keep hold of the t-shirts in readiness for the children designing their sports day t shirt.
Zipper club
Well done to everyone who can now zip up their own coat!!! Keep practising we need everyone to join the Zipper Club!
Travelling Nativity
This week our Travelling Nativity will be coming home for you enjoy as a family. If you could read the story and talk about the figures with your child, that would be great. We will be travelling to the stable together at nursery too! Please keep the sack overnight and then return it to nursery for another friend to enjoy. If you could email me some photos of your child using the resources we will display them at nursery.
Phew, I think that’s it for today, I told you we had been busy!
Have a good rest this weekend, next week is busy too! Don’t forget to stay safe if you are going to a Bonfire this weekend
God bless
Barbara
