READING
The children have brand new reading targets. We also have a running record of the nuber of words children have read if they are on the library books - these books are often longer and it is harder to reach the 100% target. To encouarge these children we’ll be looking at hoow many words they have read too. Please read daily.
MATHS
To keep our mental maths sharp - we have played hit the button in class. I would like the children to enjoy playing it at home too. I have made a little film to explain how to use it - so we are focused on automacity and not over using fingers.
SPELLING and HANDWRITING
As promised the children have come home this week with their own personalised spelling list. These words are the “common exception words” - often not phonetic. They are the words we use a lot in everyday writing and we should be able to spell most by the end of this year. Please watch the film. You will need lots of pieces of paper on which to practice.
