What a beautifully calm week. The children are really taking ownership of leading the worship in class now. Each child has led a worship at least twice and it feels like we are seasoned professionals. When Arya, Marcel and Jack came to plan their children’s liturgy with me, on Monday, they came full of ideas. They knew exactly what they wanted to do and share in their worship. Their theme was St. Joseph (his feast day is next week) and the children placed all fathers at the heart of their worship - it was beautiful. The group made little yellow hearts to take away to give to daddies or Grandads - I hope you recieved yours. Please don’t think we forgot about our beautiful mums - I think there is a little surprise- for you- in our school bags!
GOING DEEPER IN CONVERSATION
We have really enjoyed our conversations during our My Happy Mind lessons. In these sessions we are learning to appreciate. We have discovered that when we say thank you and hear the words thank you, it not only feeds our soul is also releases chemicals in our brains that make us feels happy. I’m going to make a Gratitude Jar for our classroom. Then we can keep remembering to say thank you all the time. Can you make one at home too?
MAGICAL MOMENTS OF LEARNING
This week we have thoroughly explored London in Geography and in Science we completed our first proper science investigation. For this we had to have roles in “The Lab”. The children investigated the following question. What happened to the length of an ealastic band attached to a bag when mass (weight) is added to the bag. Oh we did have fun. In English we have been writing a diary - full of feelings and in maths we have learned the relationship between repeated addition and the multiplication sign. We are very excited about our new understanding of “times”!!! Mrs Mather hasd led us in Art wonderfully as always and Miss Forster was in charge of all things linked to Mothering Sunday (wink wink) - Thank you!
