Year 2 Home Learning to be handed in Monday 11th May

DISASTER!!!!

Last week - my homework post did not go live!! I know I sent the books back with the maths but this was completed without the teaching video and I so wanted to share with you the difference between grouping for division (quoitative) and sharing for division (partitive). I can only apologise. Please do let me know via email if the correct week hasn’t appeared.

I have sent the missing homelearning blog live so you can pop back and check it out.

READING

Please continue to read and please be ready to quiz. You will have seen on the weekly blog that we have a group of children who have achieved their reading target for this half term. Please read with your children everyday and help them to be ready to quiz.

MATHS

Division - I have included last weeks missing video which explains how we use grouping to solve division problems and then a new video to show how we have learnt to share/partition and then group for division this last week. Please see the questions in your homework book - and solve

SPELLING - the spelling envelope has come back home

We have quizzed every child in class to see which red words (common high frequency words- should be correctly spelt) We have made a new list with those spellings still to practice are highlighted in pink.

We are very excited to see that a number of children have mastered all the words and they have recieved the red words for Year 3 and 4 to have a go at mastering.

Please take 6 words and over learn these -

At the end of this half term we will reassess and I’ll be able to report accurately on their end of school report and hand over to their new teacher knowing how well we have done with these words.

You can pop into last weeks home learning and listen to the dictated sentences from last week - that would be great especially if you you have mastered all of your red words.

THANK YOU for helping them - they have made so much progress

Have fun!
