As we enter the month of May a beautiful statue of Our Lady has appeared on out class alter. Over the next few weeks we will be saying part of the Rosary each Thursday. Please encourage your child to bring in Rosary beads - its lovely to use some that are special from home. Our children’s worship this week was led by Sophia, Bertie and Izzy and they led us in a garden worship outside -it was beautiful!
In RE we have continued to reflect on the life of St Paul and just how much he changed. We then discovered that he wrote a letter to the Galtians in modern day Turkey explaining how the “Fruits of the Holy Spirit” had changed him. He listed these gifts The fruit of the
Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. In class we thought long and hard about how these gifts are given to us aswell. We then made a little barcelet with all the gifts on as charms.
GOING DEEPER IN CONVERSATION
Here is a lovely child friendly film to help understand how the “Fruits of the Holy Spirit” can grow in us. Why not watch it together and reflect x
MAGICAL MOMENTS OF LEARNING
What a great week - so many highlights. In English we have been writing a leaflet together. We invented a bird themed park to visit - “Wonderful Wild Wings” and then wrote a the persauive text to get families to visit - what fun. Next week, we have to wite our own leaflet! We love division in maths, we know now that division is grouping and sharing!! In science we have been challenged to grow food - so we were off to the garden to plant. Today we seeded lettices, radish and broad beans. We plan to do corgettes, strawberries and tomotoes too. Keep an eye out for the little garden we are creating outside our classroom!!! In addition to all this, the lovely Miss Brookes has been teaching fabulous lessons in computing, RE and history - we love history- ask us what we have discoevred about Florence Nightingale. Oh I nearly forgot Mrs Mathers amazing DT lesson and Mr Nay’s fun and exhausting PE session which was followed by a very creative dance session in the hall. There was spelling and seed watching too! What a packed week!
We were so busy working Mrs H has forgotten to take pictures- sorry.
However Mrs Tirney would love to share with you some wildlife action from our forest school wildlife camera - click here for link
