May is known as the Month of Mary. In springtime, the Church reflects on Mary as a sign of new life, hope, and God’s love. Catholics honour her as the mother of Jesus and a special model of faith, kindness, and obedience to God. During this month, we will be praying the Rosary and we have our beautiful Mary statue out in our school worship area with flowers around her as a way of showing love and respect. This is important for us, as it helps us remember Mary’s role in God’s plan and encourages us to follow her example of saying “yes” to God in our own lives.
This week’s gospel, John 14:1–12, Jesus reassures his disciples that they should not be afraid because he is going to prepare a place for them in heaven, and he reminds them that he is “the way, the truth, and the life.” He teaches that by knowing and trusting in him, we come to know God the Father, and he promises that his followers will continue his good works. We have discussed how this gives us comfort and hope, reminding us that Jesus is always with us and guiding us, even in difficult times. It encourages us to trust in Jesus, follow his example, and live our lives with faith and love.
We only have one more (short) week until SAT’s. Over this long weekend children need to continue to revise and work towards their targets. I have set homework to complete over the week for children to have a go at, but there are other areas that are unique to them as individuals that they know they also have to practice. Please have a look at the homework page and have the conversation with them to see how best to support them with their revision. This week we have had a practise SAT’s week, where every day they have took one mock, whether this is independently or in partners. We are so proud how they have tackle this with such a positive attitude and resilience! Feedback will be given next week in preparation.
Revision classes have been great, with such a good turn out and have helped them to work on reasoning and problem solving. There will be no revision clubs next week. The children need to build themselves up for the following week and been able to swtich off a bit, in order to be fresh for the following day!

Attentive and Discerning Star
This half term we will be on the lookout for all the children that are attentive in the way we look at the world and in others, taking the time to notice the big and the small things each day. We will also be spotting children who are discerning, who choose the right decisions with integrity. These children are the role models of the school. This week we thank Tommy for being attentive and discerning to help others.
Leading Learners
Well done to Grace
You are such a calming influence on our class. You get on with your work independently, quietly and calmly. Thank you Grace for being a great role model within the classroom, going above and beyond to help and always doing what is asked of you. You are such a cooperative learner and radiate kindness when working with others both in the classroom and around the school. In class, you are so focused and always ready to learn, you reflect on your work and always strive hard to do your very best, which is why you have made so much
