What a busy half term it has been! We have had a wonderful time thinking about where our foods come from. We have had discussions on how although the import and export of goods is good for the economy, it does however, impact us globally in relation to climate change and environmental impact. This in turn brought us on to the discussion of locally sourced foods and seasonal availability. With this in mind, the children collaborated in the design of a seasonal tart. Each group selected ingredients to compliment one another, then went on to make their selected tart. The children revisited their skills of carefully peeling and slicing vegetables to create their finished dish. We had a great time and they all smelled and looked absolutely delicious! I hope that they all really enjoyed tasting them.
