This week, the children have been exploring the Fruits of the Holy Spirit and we have been thinking carefully about how these qualities can guide us in our everyday lives as Christians. We have learned about the nine Fruits of the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. We discussed what each of these mean and how they can be shown through our actions and our words. To deepen our understanding, the children took part in role play activities linked to real-life situations. Through our freeze frames, we were able to express and show how the Fruits of the Holy Spirit can influence the way we respond to challenges, disagreements and relationships. The children loved being creative and they worked together so beautifully to show empathy, mutual respect and love for those around them.
The children led us in a really meaningful candle lit worship and it was such a special part of our day.
GOING DEEPER IN CONVERSATION
Over the weekend, we would like to challenge you to explore different ways to pray with your children. Mrs Hotchkiss has been teaching the children about different ways to pray in RE and the children took part in a whole class meditation session. They have also brought home a guide to the Rosary - they would love to share this with you!
MAGICAL MOMENTS OF LEARNING
What a wonderful week we have had! In Science, the children have been carefully observing their seeds and watching them grow. The children absolutely adore this time of the day and love to compare the growth of their seeds with others. On Thursday, we spent some time in the morning in our beautiful garden, where we planted vegetables and had lots of fun outside! In Maths this week, we have been learning all about money, what different coins look like and how we can count different coins like real mathematicians! We have continued to be superstar Historians and we have learnt more about Florence Nightingale’s life and what incredible changes she made as a nurse in the Crimean war. Although our week has been slightly shorter than normal, it has been super jam-packed and full of such fabulous learning! Please ask us about our bird themed park and the new bossy verbs that we have learnt.
As always, the children loved their DT lesson with Mrs Mather on Wednesday and Mr Nay’s PE session on Monday! Our PE lesson was very exciting as we were starting to think about sports day and practicing the different races and sporting activities!
HAPPY BITHDAY SIR DAVID - we had a lovely time learning and watching “Life on Earth” on Friday. See our cmpetition entries! Izzy was our Year 2 winner!
