What a fantastic first week back it has been to start our final half term together in Year 5! We may be in June but the British weather still continues to ellude us with a variety of different forecasts throughout the week. Year 5 started the week off in the kitchen as they turned into cooks to make their team spaghetti bolognese. It was straight from the kitchen to the stage as Mrs Gregan began working on our roles in the Year 6 end of year play- with lots of singing dancing and acting.
In RE, we have been retrieving on previous knowledge learned across the year such as books of the bible and God’s first covenant. The children teamed up to collect and share knowledge on what they know about the Bible and to complete the ‘Bible Bookshelf Challenge’- a race to find all 73 books of the bible. The children then created their own story booklets on God’s first covenant with Abraham- by using scripture to help construct their story.

Geography- Our lesson on the flags of the world was timed perfectly with the start of the FIFA World Cup. How many countries do you recognise who are playing in the World Cup? Could you identify what their flag is? (There are 48 teams in total!)
