In this week’s Gospel, Jesus shares with us the very special parable of the Sower. Jesus tells this parable to encourage us to listen to Him and to act on what Jesus tells us to do. In class we thought about this, what does Jesus want us to do. The children shared many thoughts, “to be kind to everyone,” and “to look after our world to help all of the creatures.”
In RE lessons we have been thinking about the global Christian community and how we can help and spread Gods love… Here are some pictures of our wonderful work…
Going deeper in conversation
This week we have been thinking about who we will be when we grow up. We have discussed how jobs are for anyone, no jobs for girls and jobs for boys. We have also thought about our talents and how we can use these… Please spend some times together thinking and sharing your own unique gifts and talents and how you could use these talents to make other people happy
Magic moments
The children have been so looking forward to sports day and on Monday afternoon we took to the field and really enjoyed each event! The children tried so hard and most importantly worked as a team, celebrating one another which was so wonderful! Well done everyone and a big thank you to all of you who came to cheer us on!
Let’s celebrate
A huge well done to Isabella who has been awarded our Star award this week. Isabella you have grown in confidence and always go out of your way to help others. When you see that there is a job that needs doing you are always happy to help and love to know that you have done something kind!
Our learning certificate this week goes to Arla, you have challenged yourself every day! You love to learn and are just a delight to spend time with each day! You work so hard, always pushing yourself. You look after others, care about their feelings and have such a positive impact in our classroom! You are a true joy.
Reminders:
Sponsored Fancy dress walk! In Year 1 we have decided to raise money for CAFOD by taking part in a fancy dress sponsored walk! This will be on Tuesday 14th July. Please make sure your Year 1 child comes into school in fancy dress with sensible shoes, any donations would be greatly appreciated.
School closes next week for the Summer on Friday at 2:00pm.
We hope you have a wonderful weekend, as we get ready for our final week together in Year 1 (Sob! We really do not want this year to end! May already have shed a tear or two!)
Miss Bassett and Miss Hennessy.
