Homework should be completed and returned to school by Wednesday each week, unless stated otherwise.

Reading

Read, read, read... every single day!

We will be completing our Star Reading assessments next and everyone will have a brand-new ZPD range for this term.

Who will be the first in our class to achieve 100% of their Accelerated Reader target? Happy reading!

Spellings

Spellings will be practised both in school and at home throughout the week. These will include:

Retrieval of previous spelling patterns and phonics.
Revision of important spelling rules.
New spelling patterns and statutory spellings.
There may also be a spelling activity or quiz to complete.

There may also be a spelling activity or quiz to complete at home to complement our learning in school. The children will complete their weekly spelling quiz in class on Thursday, giving them plenty of time to practise. Each week spellings can be found in their homework books and on the blog.

Decorate Your Homework Book

Please cover your homework book and clearly label it with your name. We'd love you to personalise it with pictures, colours or designs that show your interests and personality, while also helping to protect it as it travels between home and school throughout the year.

Optional Homework - Class Councillor

Have you never been a Class Councillor before? Would you like the opportunity to represent your classmates during your final year at Our Lady's?

If you would like to stand in the class elections, please prepare either a short speech, a presentation or a poster explaining:

Why your classmates should vote for you.
What qualities you have that would make you an excellent Class Councillor.
How you would help make our school an even better place.

Our class vote will take place Thursday, so please make sure you bring everything you need before then.

Eco Councillor

If you would like to apply to become an Eco Councillor, please write a short paragraph explaining:

Why you would like the role.
Why you think you would be a good representative.
What ideas you have and how you would make a positive difference within our school.

These applications will be shared with the teachers leading each council, so please either type your paragraph or write it neatly on a separate piece of paper ready to be handed in.
