Year 2 Weekly Blog Friday 3rd July "How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard." — A.A. Milne

This week we say goodbye to Mrs Brookes. Miss Brookes is now a fully fledged teacher! She came to use to teach alongisde the Year 2 team and she has been an amazing addtion to our class family. We simpke love her! We’ll miss her kindness, smile and her lovely sense of humour- her new school is very lucky to have her.

This week in RE we completed all our lessons for this half term- we have reflected deeply on those around us who show us what a great neighbour is. We realised that kindness and acts of love really do make our community special. We thought too about charity and how we can help others in need by helping charities to do good work.

Talking about charity - we’ve practised our “Little Hearts” concert and we simply can’t wait to perform for you on Tuesday (2:30pm). We sounded so good Mrs Gregan popped out of a meeting to see us! Here are some pictures of us decorating our Charity T-shirts

GOING DEEPER IN CONVERSATION

This week we went off to Year 3 to investigate our new classroom. Tell your parents all about your new room- what was it like, what was different and what was the same?

MAGICAL MOMENTS OF LEARNING

We have practised our singing a lot this week. We’ve learnt new songs - you’re going to love them! On Monday we started to decorate our Charity T-shirts, it was so much fun to draw ourselves. Then Miss Brookes did extra Geography with us - we now know all about Greece - it was really interesting. Mrs Mather took half of us for DT - cooking- and we made the wraps we designed last week. Miss Lavelle popped in for computing and PE and we’ve continued to learn about fractions (of amounts) and time. In science we kept checking our bulb experiment - we planted them upside down, sideways and up - and everyone of them moved round all on their own- to face back up again! Finally, we had our very first French lesson - ask us and see if we can remember any new words

Learning never stops at Our Lady Star of the Sea!
