Our class prayer and liturgy was led by Alice, Bea, Louie, Rosie and Rosa. We read Matthew 21:33–43 and reflected on what it means to be a messenger. We thought about the different ways we can be messengers of God through our words, actions and the way we treat others.
As a class, we have also started the 2026 Rosary Challenge. We created a beautiful class rosary display, adding the names of people we would like to dedicate our prayers to. It has been lovely to see the children thinking carefully about those who are important to them and remembering them in prayer.
In English, we have started writing diary entries from the perspective of Daniel, the main character in The Nowhere Emporium. We have been thinking carefully about Daniel’s thoughts and feelings and how we can use these to make our writing engaging and believable.
In Science, we have continued our unit on electricity. We had great fun rubbing balloons on our heads and investigating static electricity! We also looked back at our learning from Year 3 about magnets and used this knowledge to help us understand how positive and negative charges behave, including how they can attract and repel one another.
Our Maths focus this week has been on redistribution when adding integers and decimal fractions. We have been developing our understanding of how numbers can be partitioned and recombined to make calculations more efficient.
