In RE we produced fantastic posters. These pieces of art work explained what we could all do to help sustain our planet. From handing down clothes to little siblings, to walking or scootering to school - our posters had it all. Later we reflected on how we can make our school even better and it was clear that the children are keen to look after what we already have! We wrote a lovely letter to Mrs Gregan with all our ideas! GOING DEEPER IN CONVERSATION
This week in Kids Safe we discussed “private parts”. We were reminded that our bodies belong to us and we are the boss of our body. No-one can touch our bodies and we do not ask to see others people’s bodies. Once we had a good reflection on this, we talked about secrets and how some secrets are good and some are not. If a secret gives us “yucky feelings” we now know that this is our body telling us to tell our trusted adult. We shared a good secret together - ask your child waht it was!

MAGIC MOMENTS OF LEARNING
I think the children’s favourite lesson this week was the making of a mini book! We continue with the Jolly Postman and he gave a letter to Cinderella inside which was a miniture story book all about her. In response we made a Goldilocks book to send to her for her birthday. These little mini books are fabulous and the children will want to share them with you when you come to “book look” is a couple of weeks! It’s been mental in maths - literally using our mental maths facts to solve problems with multiplies of ten. In science thought like a scientist to decide whether something was living or not living and in geography we explored “physical features” ! Mrs Hunter had a wonderful day with computing, gym and shape work in maths. Finally a thank you to Mr Nay who makes PE fun on Mondays!

VISIT to church on Friday 9th October - set off 9:05am. We will be joining the parish for morning mass then staying. Father will be teaching the children - what happens at a baptism. We would love some volunteers to join us.
VISIT to the Parish centre Friday 16th October. This will be part one of our school STAR CHARTER (linking with the parish) we will be setting off at 10:15am and we’ll be coming back around 11am. We would love some volunteers to join us.
TRIP BLACKPOOL ZOO - On Friday November 20th Year 2 will be visiting Blackpool zoo. We’ll be going on a coach, taking part in a zoo keeper workshop and then exploring the zoo as scientists. The price for the trip is £23 and you can pay via parents pay. Becasue I’m taking the children away from the local environment I need you permission. Please pop on the form below to consent. Nearer the time I’ll add further details about the logistics of the day. I do need some volunteers to join me. We will be leavimng school at 9:45 and returning for around 3:00pm.
