In Year 4, homework is given out on Friday and needs to be in for the following Thursday.

SPELLING - Sticky Words Strategies

This week, we have revised these sticky words and looked at the tricky bits and patterns in them. Play READ, TURN, WRITE, CHECK with each word on the 2 sheets

1. In top left quadrant, TRACE the WORD

2. In top right quadrant, COPY the word

3. Hide both top quadrants with a ruler, rubber or your hand. In bottom left quadrant, WRITE the word from MEMORY. Check it.

4. In bottom right - have another turn at writing and checking.

2. Practice quick recall of these subtraction facts, in readiness for column subtraction next week. Sometimes the most effective strategy for subtraction is to work out the difference. So for example, 15 - 8 = Could be thought of as ‘What do I add to 8 to make 15? ? +8 = 15
