Maths
This week we have focused on learning how to regroup in column addition. This happens if the ones add up to more than 9 - so we need to regroup into 1 ten and ones OR if the tens add up to more than 9 - meaning we need to regroup into 1 hundred and tens.
We have practised lots of these in class - show your parents how confident you are!
Please use a pencil and use a ruler for the equals line at the bottom. The first 5 calculations have regrouping in either the ones or tens column.
The second 5 have regrouping in both the ones and tens.
Please ensure your hundreds, tens and ones are lined up underneath each other.
Always add the ones first. Then tens. Then hundreds. See the example below for how we regroup (or carry) at our school and please set out like this:

Spelling
Year 3/4 key words we have learned this week are all homophones - These are words which sound the same but have a different spelling and meaning.
he’ll / heel / heal their/there/they’re weather/ whether ate/eight
whose/who’s witch/which piece/ peace through/ threw too/ to/ two
Please create a page in your homework book which is a homophone poster - showing the 2 or 3 words and their meanings as a picture.
You can do more than one homophone if you wish. Here are some examples from your books in class:
