Magic moments
RE
In RE this week we learnt about the Jewish faith. We discovered where Jewish people pray to God and how this is a different day to Catholics. We also looked at the different items of clothing that Jewish men wear to show respect to God.
English and Maths
English this week has been all about trains! We read our new story “How to train a train” and learnt about all the different types of trains there are. We paired up and began creating some fact files about the different trains, we researched steam trains, freight trains, high speed trains and underground trains.
I am currently in the process of sneaking in a last minute trip before we break up for summer - this will be on Thursday 17th July for the morning. If you are free to help out on that day please let me know by Tuesday next week so I can complete the risk assessment. We will be walking down to St Annes beach and riding the miniature steam train, we will then sit down with an ice cream before we head back to school for dinner. I will confirm when this has been fully booked.
In Maths we extended our knowledge of measurement, we used tens and ones and rulers to measure different things in our classroom and used our mathematic vocabulary to describe their length or height. We then used some blocks to build some towers and wrote an equation to match them.
PE
We had a lovely and relaxing PE lesson this week, we started with a big run around, then came together on the grass to lie down and find our calm. The children did some deep breathing together and then came inside for a yoga session.
