'If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams’
Roald Dahl
We went to Church on Wednesday to watch Lucé and Mary be baptised by Deacon John, he was very impressed with our knowledge and it was great to see what happens. A huge thank you to our adult helpers, Miss Galea, Mrs Shellard, Ms Mercer and Ms Geraghty. We wouldn’t be able to go on these trips without your support, we really appeciate it.
We have been practising the sign of the cross can you do this at home?
Conversation starter
Each week we will give you a question that we would like you to think about and discuss together at home. This could be over dinner time as a family, at bedtime, on a walk or even in the car. However you choose to discuss this question is up to you, but the idea is that it will help to give an insight in to what we talk about in school, help children to understand more about themselves or others.
How can you show gratitude to God and other this week?
What have we been learning this week:
Phonics: our sounds this week were ‘u’ (As in the sound an ape makes), ‘b’ (short sound ball), ‘f’ (as in click - sound in throat) and ‘e’ (fffffffff’ no ‘ur’ at the end)
Can you write these letters at home :
u down and under, up the top and draw the puddle
b down the laces to the heel, round the toe
f down the stem off (pencil off page) draw the leaves.
e lift off the top and scoop out the egg
The QR codes for the videos have gone home today, scan to watch them at home. The yellow reading records are now in your bags sorry for the confusion last week. Please sign when you have read and practise the sounds on the key chains. Any questions please email.
Questions you can ask your child:
Front cover: What do you think this story will be about?
Prediction: What might happen in the story?
Connection: Does this book remind you of anything else you've read or seen?
While Reading:
What can you see? What is happening? or What has happened so far?
How is the character feeling?
What do you think might happen next?
After Reading
Did you like the book?
What was your favourite part and why?
Can you retell the story?
Why did that character do that?
How does this story make you feel?
Has anything like this ever happened to you?
Would you like to be that character?
Kidsafe: In this session we discussed about how we can keep ourselves safe while using the internet, for more information please read the letter.
Maths: we have been learning about more and fewer, caan you practise at home you can use two teddy’s and give them up to 5 objects each (different amounts). Use the Stem sentence ….. has fewer/more than …… ask your child to show you the number on their fingers, encourage them to subitise (say the amount, don’t count)

Polite reminder that for health and safety reasons, no jewellery is to be worn on PE days. We kindly ask that this is removed at home before coming into school.if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me at:
