This week in our RE lessons, we have been learning all about Elijah the prophet and his unshakeable faith in God. Children have really reflected on what a prophet actually is and how God works through them. They have taken inspiration from these two great men because when things were really challenging for them, they knew that God’s way is the right choice. In our gospel worship in class this week, we learned that Jesus encourages us to be faithful to Him and He offers to be our faithful friend.
Our school trip on Tuesday was just wonderful. Children were impeccably behaved and they took each opportunity with relish! They loved watching the dramatic science experiments and learned all about acids, alkalis and neutral on the PH scale. Then they made their bath bombs and lip balms - helping each other with such joy!
This week, we have analysed explanation texts and we are now writing our first one about different types of seed dispersal. This will be the first one of the year - children write many more - on mummification and the water cycle too. In history, children had to solve a mystery - interpreting evidence found and giving it back to the right tomb owner after it had been stolen!
Travelling nativity is doing the rounds already! Each day, one child will get this to take home. They can spend time reflecting and enjoy the story in the pack. They can draw or write a prayer in the book.
