This week we learned about the Jewish Feast of Passover. We explored the meaning of the Seder Plate and discovered how each item represents an important part of the Passover story and helps Jewish families remember God’s love.
In English, we began our new unit on classical poetry. We started by gathering fascinating facts about spiders and discussing different spiders and spider characters from stories. We then ranked them on a “good to evil” scale and explained our choices using evidence and discussion. We have enjoyed reading our new class novel Harry the poisonous centipede.
In Maths, we continued our work on fractions. We have been solving problems where we know the size of a fraction and need to find the whole amount. We used our reasoning skills to tackle a range of challenging questions and explain our methods.
During Computing, we developed our coding skills by using code blocks to guide a sprite through a maze. We learned how to create sequences of instructions and debug our code when things did not go as planned.
In Science, we investigated light and explored why we cannot see objects in a completely dark room. We learned that we see things when light reflects off objects and enters our eyes, and that without a light source we are unable to see.
