'Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.'
Luke 1:30
Wow what a fantastic Nativity, the children were amazing it is such a huge thing to perform to lots of people. It was beautfiul I am so proud of everyone and how hard they have worked, we also ended our week with our walking Nativity some of our children were in the stable too. This was such a lovely way to end our week.
We retold the story of the vistit from the shepherds and thought about how they would feel seeing baby Jesus for the first time.
A huge thank you to Mrs Summersall who has created some beautiful RE displays this week,
Each week we will give you a question that we would like you to think about and discuss together at home. This could be over dinner time as a family, at bedtime, on a walk or even in the car. However you choose to discuss this question is up to you, but the idea is that it will help to give an insight in to what we talk about in school, help children to understand more about themselves or others.
Conversation starter:
Can you retell the Christmas story?
What adventures have we been on this week?
We had some special visitors who left us an advent calender and advent books for us to open each day.
Drawing Club: We read bear snores on linking to our hibernation topic and we will start writing our sentences next week: I can see a den. The bear is not up.
Ask your child can they remember the vocabulary and the actions at home?
Bear Snores on vocabulary:
Slumbering: Sleeping deeply (action: Close eyes, arms crossed head resting on arms)
Creeping: moving slowly and quietly (action: tiptoe across the room)
Whirling: spinning or swirling around (action: spin around in a circle)
Flickering: light that moves quickly and softly (action: wiggle fingers upwards to the sky)
Tremendous: Very big or powerful (action: Stand tall, arms stretched wide)
Startled: Surprised or shocked (action: Jump slightly, hand to chest)
UTW: Due to how busy we have been with the Nativity we will discuss family tradions next week, it has been lovely to see your photo’s and hear about events you celebrate at home.
Home challenge: from the week beginning 8th December we will be discussing our family celebrations and traditions, please could you send me photos of any special family traditions/celebrations, it can be things you do at certain times of year (Christmas/Easter etc) or things you like to do as a family, and a bit of information if possible.
Once again thank you for those who have shared photos with me, it really helps your child learn as it is something that is relevent to them and their friends. They are so proud to share their photos with the class and it gives them confidence to talk in front of an audience.
Phonics: my group and Mrs Krols group have joined together to review some sound we have been practising our handwriting on whiteboards.
Let’s Celebrate:
Well done to our certificate awardee: How could I pick one, the whole class recieved a certificate with all the learning characters for their Nativity once again I am so proud of them.

Our PE days are Tuesday (outside) and Friday (inside). On these days, children can come to school in their PE uniform and will remain in this for the day. We kindly ask that velcro trainers (white, black or navy) are worn as this allows the children to be indepoendent when taking their shoes off and putting them back on. Polite reminder that for health and safety reasons, no jewellery is to be worn on PE days.
