Worship
Our prayer leaders this week were Oscar, Arthur, Reyan, Olivia He and Ruby, they have led the class in prayer each day and on Tuesday led our class liturgy. Our word of the week has been ‘God’.
Our learning this week…
English
Paddington has been getting into all sorts of trouble! This week we have read about Paddington getting lost in a big shopping centre.Mrs Brown and Judy had to give a store detective a description of Paddington when trying to find him. We have come up with our own noun phrases for Paddington, from his battered old suitcase to his blue woolen coat, we are sure our descriptions will help in the hunt for Paddington.
Maths
This week we have been revisited bridging to 10, a strategy we were taught in year2, our rapid recall of number bonds to 10 really helped. We’ve thinking about which is the best unit of measure to use - metres or centimetres? I wonder if you could find things in your house that you’d measure in centimetres and then some in metres?
RE
We have thinking about equality and the words fair and unfair. We learnt about St Martin de Porres and about Kateri Tekakwitha, both were treated unfairly. We thought about times in our own lives when we had noticed unfair or unjust treatment and spoke about how those people must have felt. Some of the stories we heard made us feel sad, but as a class we promised to treat everyone fairly and to speak up when we saw inequality.

Swimming
Another great week week at swimming, the children had a full hour in the pool this week so I’m sure they will need lots of rest this weekend.
Conversation starter…
How can you be a good steward? What will you do to take care of our world? Our town? Our school? Your home?
I wonder if you and your family can make a pledge together…What could you do?
It could be as easy as changing 1 small thing like:
Taking reuasble bags when you do the weekly shop.
Buying foods with less packaging.
Only putting the dishwasher on when it’s full.
Not letting the tap run when you brush your teeth.
Walking short distances instead of using the car.
What will you do?
