It has been a lovely week in Year 4! In our worship this week, we thought about the story of two sons - one who said he would do as his father asked but then did not. The other son said he would not but then did do his father’s will. We learned that each new day is an opportunity to change for the better. There is definitely a sense in year 4 that children are striving to shine and improve.
We have done our third Kidsafe lesson this week, where children thought about being on screens and online. They learned about Age ratings on films, TV and video games and how they are there to protect innocent children’s minds. Please read the letter below
Other magical moments this week: Children enjoyed making their own sequences in PE this week. They loved finding invertebrates in their habitats and then classifying them when back in class into annelids, arachnids, insects, molluscs and crustaceans. We have moved onto 4 digit numbers in maths now and children are so excited about this. They have completed some super writing in English using fronted adverbials to retell the story of Wilbur’s escape.

PE DAY CHANGE: We are changing our inside PE lesson from Thursday to Monday from now on. This is because Ukulele in now taking place on Thursdays.
UKULELE: The session was a little frustrating this week as the teacher had asked children not to fiddle with the keys but many children had done - and he spent a lot of the lesson retuning instruments that were badly out of tune instead of teaching. Please could you re-iterate to children not to turn the keys at the top (neck) of the instrument - at home and in the session.

Our virtues this half term are to be Compassionate and Loving. This means showing genuine care for others and trying to put yourself in their position. This week, our star goes to Daisy. You are loving to your class because you are always showing readiness to learn and allowing others to concentrate. You are so compassionate to others and have such a gentle nature.
