Welcome to the Year 2 homework blog. I will be posting the homework out, to you, every Tuesday. Homework books are returned to school each Monday morning. They are marked and returned the next day. You will notice that I’ve made little videos to guide you and the children. You may want to watch these together or watch it yourself first and then support with the homework. Please enjoy! Please have fun. The optional homework can be done at your leisure - see button at the bottom of the page.
Thank you Mrs Hotchkiss
READING
The class will continue to visit the libray (as in Year 1) and bring home a book to share. The children continuing on RWI and working on becoming a fluent reader will have their RWI Reading book it is essential (the most important part of home learning) that they read this everyday with an adult. There are 12 children in class who are now reading fluently and are completing reading lessons with Mrs Hotchkiss. These children will bring home a book with an orange sticker - these books are real books which the children can access enjoy and then quiz using AR reader. I will be teaching them how to do this in class.
MATHS
Please find the worksheet glued into your book - watch the short video to support this homework
HANDWRITING
We found the handwriting tricky this week - but we did a good job. It is super important to practise at home too. This week we have relearned the LADDER letters (straight letters). Please watch the short video for a very useful model
FINALLY - DECORATE YOUR BOOK
Instead of spelling this week - please spend some time together making your homework book look beautiful - let your personality shine!
