Well done children for getting on with your work this week from home, it has been super to see how busy you have been and how much work you have done. We are so proud of you! Well done to all of you who have reached your reading targets this week. Thank you also to all of our lovely parents who have supported the children this week too. You are AMAZING too!
Well, what a year it has been! It hasn’t been what we would normally expect, but that hasn’t stopped the children from learning and being determined to succeed. We are so proud of you all, you have been INCREDIBLE!
The Year 3 team have absolutely loved teaching the children this year and we have thoroughly enjoyed sharing so much together. We would all like to thank the children for being such wonderful members of the class and also all of you parents for the support that you have given us and the children throughout the year. What a team we have made!
It has been wonderful to be part of your child’s learning journey this year and to watch them grow on a daily basis. They have been such a loving and caring class and always ready to see the good in every situation. We have had so much fun together and we hope that you will enjoy the videos that we have put together to celebrate the year, but first some photos from this week.
Enjoy watching.
As you know we are saying ”Goodbye “ to Alexander and his family as they are moving away. We would just like to wish them all lots of love and happiness as they move on to pastures new. You have been wonderful this year Alexander. You are such a kind friend and a lovely member of our class, we will all miss you, but we know that you will soon make lots of new friends when you move to your new school. Please do remember us and keep in touch, we would love to hear how you are getting on.
If you have any spare time during the holidays and would like to keep that love of learning ticking over and make sure that you are ready to start Year 4, head over to the home learning section of our class web page. There you will find a range of activities to have a go at in preparation for Year 4.
Keep a look out on the Year 4 page on Tuesday, as there will be a little message from Mrs Lyons explaining all about what to expect in September.
Children return to school on Thursday 2nd September. Please see Miss Hornby’s blog for changes in staggered times and house teams.
Once again can we say a huge “Thank you” for all of your support this year. We have loved teaching your children, they are wonderful. We hope that everyone has a fantastic summer holiday and that you have time to recharge your batteries and spend some time together as a family having fun.
Take care and stay safe
Lots of love The Year 3 Team (Miss Brisco, Miss Edmondson and Miss Woodrow)

I can’t quite believe that I am writing the final blog of the year … and what a year it’s been! So many challenges have been thrown our way and so many obstacles have been overcome, but through it all, the children have been truly AMAZING! They have taken everything in their stride, have continued to smile, and my goodness, the progress they have continued to make has been astounding.

It's party time!!
Such a fun week, culminating with our end of year party on Thursday.
Everyone joined in with the party games, we played musical chairs, statues and bumps, did the conga around the garden, played I wrote a letter to my friend all to some very loud music (Mrs. Gregan set up the loud speakers for us). We chose all our favourite music to play!
I must say we have some fabulous dancers!
We finished the morning with fish and chips (kindly donated St. Annes Fish Restaurant). They were sooo yummy that some the children had seconds and third helpings. We then had ice lollies for after’s. A perfect lunch don’t you think!
In the afternoon we watched the Year 6 production of the Wizard if Oz. As expected it was superb. We spotted lots of budding performers.
Take a look at our party photos.
As always we are sad to see the children leave nursery, but we are certain they will have a have an equally wonderful year in their Reception class.
It has been such a privilege, during such a difficult and unknown time, for you to have entrusted your most precious child into our care. It shows us how much to have trusted us to both keep the children safe and to get them ready for the next stage of their learning journey. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
We will miss you all so very much but we hope you will keep a little piece of nursery safe in your heart forever.
We will see some of you in September but for those of our families who are moving to pastures new, remember you will have left your mark at Our Lady’s Nursery so you belong to us! Please keep in touch.
Please do keep safe and well this summer.
God Bless
Barbara, Clare, Colette, Frances and Hannah

Good morning Year 3. We hope that you are still smiling. We certainly are! The work you have produced this week has been great, thank you for your emails and photos they have kept our class family in touch.
Well, we have come to the end of our year together and this would be our final day in Year 3.
We have got 3 people to celebrate this morning - Max has reached 100% of his reading target. Well done Max.What a star! Matilda has reached more than 200% of her reading target - amazing Matilda! Millie has reached over 400% of her reading target by finishing her Harry Potter book. WOW!! WOW!! WOW!! WOW!! Well done Millie. Well done to all of you. (Maybe you could all draw yourself your bird points - well done. What a star you all are!!)
Children, don’t forget to keep reading as much as you can during the holidays. It is a good way to go off on an adventure, you can go anywhere in a book!
We hope that you will all join us on our final Zoom meeting of the year at 9:30am today (Friday 16th July). Details of the Zoom were sent on Wednesday - they are also the same as they were for Tuesday. We are so looking forward to seeing you all and having a reflection on the year. Before you join the Zoom meeting please have a little think about what you have enjoyed this year and what you think you have got better at. We will then share and celebrate all of our thoughts and ideas. (Or at least some of them - we might not be able to share EVERYTHING that we have enjoyed and got better at this year, we could be there for the whole of the summer holidays!!!! Everyone will get a chance to share at least 1 thing though).
We would then like you to do just one more thing today and that is to think about what your hopes are for Year 4. What do you hope to get better at? What do you hope will happen in Year 4? What do you hope you will enjoy? etc. I have set a 2Do for you to do this on Purple Mash. Don’t forget to save it and submit it so that we can see what you hope for. Thank you.
See you on the Zoom. xxx
