  1. The Vikings!

Next week, we are beginning our lessons in History about the Vikings. What can you find out about them? Create an information page in your homework book. Search the internet to find out - maybe type ‘Vikings for kids,’ to search effectively. This is good reading practice - read, understand, select information then WRITE IN YOUR OWN WORDS. Think about how to lay out your page before you begin.

You could find out:

What were they like? Where did they come from? What did they believe?

Why did they come here? What made them different to Anglo-Saxons? What are they famous for?

Don’t forget to include a picture or two on your fact page.

Shakespeare challenge - as last week.

If you have not done this - have a go and send it.

Deadline for submissions is Mon 1st May at Midnight!!! All submissions with photo permissions to hazelc@blackpoolgrand.co.uk

I would love it if you could send them to me to watch too:

Our Shakespeare play, the Tempest

This week, your child has come home with their part which they will say on the Grand theatre stage! Some children have chosen not to have a speaking part and this is fine - as we need them to be the Scene Setters and they will still be on stage.

Children - tell your parents all you know about The Tempest storyline. Explain who you are in the play and if you have a line (or a few) please try and learn for next week, by Monday/Tuesday if you could. This would be excellent because we start to practise and put it together then.

We will let you know about costumes next week.

Also, I have put details on the main blog about booking tickets to see your child perform on Thursday 9th March. Tickets are available from the Grand website.
