Year 3 Tuesday 12th May Photos from your Home Learning

It was lovely to see you yesterday looking refreshed and ready to learn after the long weekend. Here are the photos from today’s home learning, we hope that you enjoy them and even get some inspiration from them. We love to see all the things that you are doing.

This week I have challenged myself to get going with some little videos, so see what some of your friends have been up to over the last few weeks. Feel free to send me videos of your learning, Miss Edmondson.

Reception Home Learning - Tuesday 12th May

Everyday activities:

Set 1 Speed Sounds at 9.30 am and again at 12.30 pm
Set 2 Speed Sounds at 10.00 am and again at 1.00 pm

2. Oxford Owl: Login to Oxford Owl and read your next book. Remember to discuss the story throughout, checking your child’s understanding. Please make a note of any sounds or tricky words that your child struggles with and focus on these throughout the next few days/until they know them.

3. PE: Keep going with this weeks Lancashire school games activities (Week 2).

Reading

Continue reading and quizzing on books using the Accelerated Reading and Epic Reading resources. Help can be found in the ‘How to help your child’ section of my page if you need it.

Remember, you should be reading for at least half an hour each day. Also try to read both a range of fiction and non-fiction books.

It also isn’t too late to sign up for the Epic Reading resource. If you would like access to a huge range of books, some with quizzes, please send an email to l.woodend@ourladystarofthesea.lancs.sch.uk. This will enable me to send you an invite to create an account.

Day 2

Read together the opening extract from Horrid Henry’s Birthday Party from the collection Fearsome Four by clicking the front cover opposite.

Discuss – How is Henry feeling about his birthday? How are his Mum and Dad feeling about his birthday? Why are they feeling differently to Henry?

Support by watching the opening of the animated version of the same story up to 3:01 mins where Henry hands out his invitations.

Design and write an invitation to Henry’s birthday party at Laser Zap. If you have some, look at party invitations you have received in the past for ideas. You will need to include:

Remember to include capital letters at the start of peoples’ names, days of the week, months of the year, places, etc.

Decorate your invitation to make it as attractive as possible.

A Write Laugh - Year 2 Optional Writing Competition

Hi Year 2!
